The problem

AIG’s upcoming 9th Floor Innovation Hub required a cohesive wayfinding and digital experience to support visitors, guide navigation, and showcase the company’s innovation from day one.

The Goal

The goal was to design an intuitive kiosk that improved spatial flow, provided quick access to local area information, and reinforced AIG’s image as an innovative but trustworthy brand. Research showed the experience needed to feel professional and functional rather than flashy, with a strong emphasis on clarity, trust, accessibility, and real usefulness.

Early design explorations

The Solution

The solution focused on designing an interactive kiosk experience for AIG’s Innovation Hub that combined wayfinding, digital concierge tools, and brand storytelling into a single system. Research insights informed a guest-first navigation approach, clear information hierarchy, and accessible interactions that supported quick orientation and engagement. The final direction created a cohesive, intuitive experience that improved spatial flow and reinforced AIG’s innovation and professionalism from the moment visitors arrived.

Features

Wayfinding

Created a guest-facing navigation experience to help visitors locate meeting rooms, multipurpose spaces, and amenities more easily. This directly addressed research showing that guests were the primary audience for navigation support, while employees generally already understood the floor layout.

Digital Concierge

Introduced a concierge layer that provided access to nearby restaurants, MARTA schedules, hotels, and local attractions, extending the kiosk beyond internal navigation. This made the experience more useful for visitors in pre-meeting or waiting moments, when they need quick, relevant information without having to leave the space or rely on separate tools.

Innovation Showcase

Designed the kiosk as a branded storytelling surface that highlighted AIG’s future initiatives and technology leadership. Secondary research positioned this as a way to turn abstract ideas about innovation into something interactive and memorable for clients, partners, and employees on the 9th floor.
